Why a separate app

The Collective is a teaching practice. Most teaching practices try to be a chain, or a school, or a software company — and end up doing none of the three well.

The work is split on purpose. Root Integrity Collective is the curriculum, the standards, the community. ROOTegra is the floor under it: the everyday tool that lets a partner salon actually run, with the methodology already built in.

You can be a Collective practitioner without ever opening the app. You cannot be a partner salon without it, because the standards live inside the workflow.

What it does

Hours · i Licensure-hour tracking across the eight cosmetology hour categories — theory, cutting, color, chemical, styling, extensions, business, and health & safety.

Curriculum · ii The curriculum modules, delivered in the same short, low-stimulation form they are taught in.

Schedule · iii Scheduling and intake for clients, with the consent and history a holistic practice asks for.

Payroll · iv Payroll and reporting for the salon owner. The boring parts, done plainly.

A note on access

Status

ROOTegra is in private beta on iOS. It is built for the iPhone a working stylist already has in their apron pocket. Access is rolling out to partner salons in the first cohort.

If you are a partner salon, your invitation will arrive directly. If you are curious from the outside, join the waitlist or say hello — the note will be kept.
